Valentine’s Day heart-shaped cake pops
These fun heart-shaped cake pops are the perfect Valentine’s Day treat. Made with pound cake and a candy melt coating they are the perfect balance of sweetness and cake.

Ingredients
  • 1cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1cup powdered sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2cups flour
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • 2bags candy melts
  • 12 lollipop sticks
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar
  3. Add the vanilla and eggs one at a time mixing well
  4. Add the flour in parts until everything is combined
  5. Spoon the dough into heart shaped mold. Fill each heart 1/2 – 2/3 of the way full. Set the silicone mold on a baking sheet before placing in the oven
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. You may see a lot of liquid around the edge still. Once you remove them from the oven it should quickly reabsorb.
  7. Place mold onto cooling rack and allow them to cool for about 10 minutes before popping them out of the mold to continue cooling. Allow to cool completely before moving on to the coating.
  8. Optional: Gently cut off rounded portion so that heart cake is flat on both sides.
  9. Push a lollipop stick into each cake piece
  10. Melt candy melts according to instructions on the bag
  11. Use a small spatula to thinly coat each piece of cake. (You can use a butter knife if you don’t have a spatula). Once coated place on parchment paper to harden. Optional: Add some heart shaped sprinkles to the top while they are still gooey.
  12. Allow the candy to harden completely before removing from the parchment paper. You can place them in the fridge to speed up the hardening process. They should be hard in 30 minutes or less.
  13. Place in individual cellophane bags or display on a plate. Be sure to store them in a cool dry place as the candy coating will melt if they get too warm.
