Blackout eye mask
This little eye mask was crucial to our success in the early days. Breastfeeding and caring for a newborn, especially for first-time parents, requires a bit of light at night. Wearing a blackout eye mask, and occasionally ear plus allowed my husband to get some much-needed rest while I took over caring for our newborn. My husband wore it until he wore it out! We’ll definitely be purchasing another one when baby number two comes along. This is the perfect gift for a new dad kit.
Shirt to celebrate his new role
Fun t-shirts are a staple in any closet. It’s time to add a shirt or two that celebrates his new role as dad to his wardrobe. I’m definitely considering getting the daddy-daughter one for my husband to celebrate the amazing relationship he has with our little girl. You can also find nice shirts for the dad that was promoted to dad in 2018. If the dad you’re buying for is a car or motorcycle fanatic snag one of these cute, 1st I stole daddy’s heart, shirts or bodysuits for their son or daughter to wear. They come in a variety of vehicles and a generic car keys version. There are also versions for grandpa!
For a dad who’s a bit more low key a nice keychain or dog tag can make a wonderful gift. They can be personalized just for them. These will take some time to be made so make sure you order one ASAP if you want to go this route.
coffee, coffee, coffee
Coffee is essential to survival as a new parent. Grab them a gift card to their favorite spot, a nice bag of coffee beans, or a fun coffee mug to drink it out of.
A lot of dad’s find they really enjoy babywearing…but sharing with your wife and constantly readjusting is a pain. My personal recommendation is the Lillebaby. My husband is able to get our daughter in and adjust this one all by himself when he needs to. It also is made of a lot of mesh to help keep dad and baby cool as dads tend to run pretty warm.
photos or artwork for his desk/office
New dads love to show off their new addition. Make him a sweet framed photo letter craft from the kids or a cute footprint craft for his office so he can have something to look at during those long hours away. You can even make him a special card using some edible paint and your child’s handprints!
A new dad would be happy to have any of these gifts to go along with their greatest gift…their kid!
