Being a mom with a young kid is a busy time of life. But many of us still want to fit in some fitness when we can. Why is my fitness by Jillian Michaels the perfect fitness app for moms?

Time

What makes this app great for moms is the flexibility. You can select short 7-minute workouts or longer full workouts if you can find the time. 7 minutes can be done while your child is eating, while you’re watching TV, or while your kid plays at the park. Time is hard to come by as a mom but 7 minutes can be found at least once per day. Fit in a few 7-minute sessions and you’ll get an even better workout throughout the day.

Simply select a body area to target at any given time. You can choose from abs, upper body, legs, total body, or cardio. For these workouts, you don’t need to pay for a subscription to the app!

Personalization

You can fully customize workouts for 10, 20, 30, or 45 minutes when you get a subscription. No more skipping parts of the workout or trying to remember a replacement move as you select the moves you want. Select a workout type and then go through and quickly select the moves you want to do before hitting go. The app includes videos for moves you don’t know or have forgotten how to do. Form is important to get the most out of the workout and avoid injury! I love to set up my routine for the next day before I go to bed at night.

No equipment needed

Don’t have much equipment at home or doing it on the go? Go into the settings and you can select the equipment you have! The app will automatically filter to show only moves that you have the equipment for. If you plan to work out at home it’s a good idea to have a set of dumbbells around and a yoga mat for your knees. If you’re a mom you likely have a soft play mat for your little one anyway which can double as some great padding. This baby care play mat is my personal favorite.

Music

I always find it easier to workout with a little music. If you go into your settings on the app you can set it up to play your own workout playlist when you’re using the app. Not only can you choose the music but you can also set it to pick the best song for the workout and set it to match the music to the pace of your workout! Now your music will be in sync with your workout helping you to work even harder. There, of course, is still the option to use the music built into the app if you want.

To set your own playlist you’ll need to select My Day and then click your profile in the top right corner. Scroll down under music and select playlist. From there you can select to use music on device. Hit playlist at the bottom and you can add whatever songs you like to workout to!

With a $14.99 monthly subscription to the Jillian Michaels app you can now access not only the Bounce Back Baby program for post-partum fitness needs but pregnancy workouts as well. There are workout programs tailored to the 1st trimester, 2nd trimester, & 3rd trimester so you can stay fit during your pregnancy (always get your doctors approval before starting a new workout plan, especially while pregnant)

You can also use the app for meal plans! Simply select the meals app and input a few preferences and it will spit out meal ideas, recipes, and even a grocery list! These features do require a monthly subscription to the app. By having it all in one place you can easily integrate and track your weight loss goals by having your workouts and meals all in one app and at your fingertips.
